The Power of Jewelry and Why This Is My Chosen Craft

There are three driving forces that energize and inspire the reason I make jewelry.

First, I love wearing jewelry for it's transformative energy. When I wear jewelry, I feel energized and sensual. Being naturally shy, my true inner personality is expressed in a way that my words cannot. I feel more confident and playful. It can also transform my usual uniform of jeans and a top, or whatever I'm wearing, into something that makes me feel special. My favorite thing is to witness one of my pieces come alive and express it's transformative energy when I see it on another person.

Secondly, I have long been intrigued by the power and depth of meaning that can be expressed through symbols. Jewelry is the perfect vehicle to express symbolically, information that is timeless, complex and cross cultural. Symbols that have been used for centuries are especially powerful.

Finally, I believe in the power of thoughts to transform how and what one experiences in life. Jewelry worn as a talisman is a reminder of the thoughts that we want to keep close to carry us through our day. A talisman can be used to remember the attributes we value and want to express or goals and desires we want to achieve. Many of us wear jewelry as a reminder of someone we love or of an important moment in our life.

Making jewelry is really part of my soul work, my desire to breath beauty, joy and juiciness into the world and to see that reflected in your faces when you wear your one of a kind heirloom treasure.
