I am a studio jeweler who works with metals, stones, enamels and resins to produce one of a kind works that are meant to evoke story and soulful emotion in the wearer.
I have lived most of my life in Western Oregon, an environment not unlike the Great Britain of my ancestry where the forest meets the sea and the seen and unseen worlds live in harmony. Science, symbolism and story are heavy influences in my work but it is the love of stones, passed on to me from my lapidary grandfather, and my mother who worked alongside him in his shop, that is the foundation of my organic jewelry.
I have an MA in counseling from Oregon State University which also contributes to my desire to explore what is beneath the surface of what I see. In translating that into expression through art, I have been taking classes, workshops and private lessons in the arts throughout my life. Though I began my avocation as a watercolorist, I have been immersed in the craft of jewelry making and metalwork for over 20 years.
My work has been sold in various Oregon art fairs, I have participated in the juried tour of Open Studios of Beavercreek and have been represented in several galleries in Oregon and Colorado.
Currently I am a member of the Creative Metal Arts Guild of Portland, Oregon and the Local 14 Artist Show.
